The quality feels really nice so far.

It allows a lot of space to write out whatever plans you have as well as any notes you may need to make.

The soft cover feels nice, the bookmark is helpful, and the elastic band keeps it closed.

Brilliant!
By Sam Barris on May 27, 2013
Format: Calendar
I was a naval officer, and one of my last assignments before leaving active duty was as operations officer aboard a guided-missile destroyer. For those who aren't familiar with that world, that meant I was the guy writing the plan for the ship, and making sure it was "deconflicted" across every department as well as every other ship in the area so nobody tripped over anyone else. I tried on a few different planners when I was learning my way around that job, and this is hands down the best one I found. The left side gave me the ability to list my appointments and meetings by day and time, and the right side gave me a place to list all the "taskers" that just needed to get done sometime before the week was out. That format worked extremely well for me, and the dignified exterior struck exactly the right aesthetic note a professional accessory needs to. The only thing I would change would be to double (or quadruple) the number of regular lined pages they put in the back of the book for notes, because I definitely needed more of those. I ended up keeping extra notepaper folded and tucked in the pocket after I'd burned through all of what there was, and that worked well enough, but more paper in the book itself would have been preferable.

Overall, I was extremely happy with this product. I had many other resources for keeping the ship's schedule in order, but as something to carry around and pull out several times a day, this was the best tool I could have asked for.

Large isn't very large
By Monica on July 31, 2013

I've been using Moleskine notebooks for several years, even when I started veering towards Google calendar and other digital options. The ability to "brain dump" all your thoughts using pen and paper can't be beat. I owned this exact model a couple of years ago and had the "extra large" last year. Now that I'm back to to size "large", I wish I had upgraded in size. This moleskine planner lacks the traditional monthly calendar boxes and has a rather odd arrangement of horizontal lines labeled by the month. There is a lot of waste in the first part of the planner. Monday through Sunday is laid out on the left side of the planner, while the ruled side is on the right. This is a really nifty feature and I love the ability to take notes, but I find the actual planner side is too small for my needs.

Returning to Paper Planners
By rosieeeeeful on January 7, 2014
Format: Calendar Amazon Verified Purchase
Once I converted to using a smartphone last year, I really tried to use Google Calendars and whatnot in order to keep organized. For whatever reason, I'm not sure why, I wasn't able to love using the smartphone for my needs. I bought this when I started to feel a little overwhelmed and felt a burning need for a paper calendar.

I'd only used cheaper weekly calendars before, and ultimately they all do the same thing. In comparison, if you're on a really tight budget, there's nothing wrong with a cheaper alternative. However, I guess you're paying for quality, design, and brand name. Ultimately, I think that it's worth it, but I've become a little more concerned about stationary recently, so I just really like this notebook. The quality feels really nice so far. I can see why my friends like using this brand of notebook to write or doodle. I like the binding, I like the look of the pages, I like the elastic band and page holder. There is a folder in back with some stickers I haven't found use for yet, but the folder would be useful for post-it notes.

The best thing about this weekly planner is the lined pages on the right-hand pages. In the blank space, I can write general notes, things to do/buy, interesting things that happened during the day. I'm sure other people would use this area for other things, so it's versatile.

The size is great. I didn't want anything too small, since I don't necessarily need a portable calendar, however I can throw this in my medium sized purse if I feel like I need it. I can write plenty in these pages, and I feel like my handwriting is fairly normal. Maybe a really busy person with a ton of appointments might need a different calendar. The weekend days have minimal space, but I can live with it.

An excellent tool for time management
By E. M. Van Court TOP 1000 REVIEWERVINE VOICE on November 15, 2013
Format: Calendar
For me, at least.

I need a paper planner for a number of reasons, but the most important to me is that I'm a tactile kind of person and like to hold the book not look at a screen, and that the act of writing helps me remember appointments and tasks where typing does not.

The seven days of the week on one side and a lined page on the other is the best format for me. I have relatively few appointments, but many tasks per week that go on the lined page.

I've had Moleskine products with the soft cover, and they are OK for light use, but I carry and use a planner almost constantly. This lost the planner a half a star. Regardless, the hard cover stands up to this use better.

Other planners have the address book that slips into the pocket in back. I miss that, and that is what lost this product the rest of that star.

The pocket size (3.5 in by 5.5 in)just doesn't have enough space, and if I cram it, the writing is too hard on the eyes. This one, the large book is about 8 in by 5 in, and much more comfortable to write in and read, while not being excessively bulky.

The spare blank pages, the year overview calendar, and the pocket inside the back cover are above and beyond what I expect in a planner, but I have grown accustomed to them and use them regularly.

Excellent tool, and I recommend it to anyone who prefers (or might prefer) a physical rather than virtual planner.
