I'm a reasonably decent power app user and bought the book because I hate watching videos to learn content. This book spends FAR too much time selling you on Windows and Microsoft products and FAR too little time providing directions. She tells us to navigate to elements that are not on my version of 8.1. It would be sweet if there were pictures of what she is talking about rather than continue to say "navigate to X", when "x" has not yet been introduced in the book. Avoid. PS - she ASSUMES you've owned and used Windows 8 and are familiar with that system, not that you are being introduced from Windows 7. Bad move.

My Windows 8.1 by Katherine Murray has helped me immensely. She gives clear, step-by-step instructions on how to do things. I'm getting along much better since getting this book. I can even solve some problems without referring to her book by using things I used the last time I referred to it. So far, the book hasn't failed me. I have found answers to each question I looked for. This is the reason for the 5-point rating. I would recommend this to anyone who is struggling with Windows 8 as I was.
