Collects ZERO #1-5Edward Zero was the best spy the Agency had—and then he realized he was working for the wrong side."A first issue is the buy in of the great game, story. This is ZERO, and it's where all the action is. Have a seat." —Jonathan Hickman (THE MANHATTAN PROJECTS, EAST OF WEST)"With ZERO, Kot continues to push boundaries of both form and content to stunning and inspiring effect. A new kind of spy thriller written with scope, intelligence and flat out gripping storytelling, ZERO is easily one of my favorite reads of the year." —Scott Snyder (SEVERED, Batman)

Ales Kot's Zero is the best new comic of 2013, and is the comic I'm most excited about going into 2014. Every issue is self-contained, and every issue is mind-blowing as a result. This is an entirely non-linear narrative, taken to the extreme. The art is always gorgeous, coming from a different artist each issue, and Jordie Bellaire does amazing work as the series colorist.

It's difficult to describe Zero and do it justice, but if you enjoy spy stories or science fiction, even just remotely, I suspect you'll love what Kot has done here. This is well-written, high-concept art, and the love and effort that went into it can be felt with every page. Simply put: if you like comics, read Zero.

I was completely blown away by this series. Zero is a fantastic action comic in its own right, but at the same time there is a much deeper story brewing just beneath the surface. The stand alone nature of each issue ensures that each mission is a satisfying whole, but it isn't until you begin to reread and trace the connective tissue that the full story really begins to come alive. Ales Kot has achieved more in these first 5 issues than most writers could hope to achieve in 10, and his tightly-plotted, subtle writing masterfully conveys a complex narrative without ever beating the reader over the head with plot points. Kot has not only set up a spy story for the ages, he's introduced a curious intimate cast to explore in future volumes. Zero could have been a simple spy comic and still have been worth reading, but it's the emotional resonance that Kot achieves so gracefully that make this a classic.
