"The Sugar Smart Diet" by Anne Alexander is a story about sugar that is one of the main reasons for obesity, various chronic diseases and early death, a book that offers help in the fight against this evil enemy with a sweet face.
The author begins her book with an interesting sentence "When I was a kid, sugar was a treat" that actually shows the main cause of problem - today sugar is almost in every refined food on the grocery store and the most vulnerable are children who are bombarded with a variety of foods and beverages that are extremely rich in unhealthy sugar.
On the other hand we need healthy sugar due to the energy that it give, therefore, the author offers help in the form of diet that would break the powerful grip sugar exerts on our bodies and minds in order to lose weight and improve health, while still enjoying sugar in reasonable and necessary quantities - her Sugar Smart Diet.
This diet efficacy lies in three-way approach toward sugar - first by addressing body's psychological desire toward sugar and even emotional connections some people experience, second by reducing intake of added sugar and last by start using of sugar substitutes.
Though in my own case, I don't need to diet, the way the author presented the facts and steps in her diet inspires confidence that its use will surely reach the results.
Whether the improvement will be seen in the exact number of inches on the waist or pounds on the scale is not so important, because the main benefit that you'll get by using it is awareness of the harmful effects of sugar and how to avoid them.
And then all the rest depends on the consistency that you stick to the rules that the author well presented - in the end results certainly will come.
